Embodied Presence – Gestalt Process Group
Gestalt therapy assumes the body has wisdom and this group explores embodiment as the intentional focus on and awareness of internal body sensation. Real growth comes from self-awareness and experiments in new behavior. It is part of the human experience to reach out to others for contact. In this group, we will explore our own embodiment and contact processes, including different contact styles as well as resistances to contact. Members will understand more about the significance of their own physical reactions with themselves and others. Awareness of similarities and differences will be encouraged while interruptions to contact will be explored in the present moment. The focus of this group is on how our ability to maintain clear and immediate awareness of our ongoing bodily experience relates to successful change in our lives. Through dialogue, body-awareness, and individual and dyadic experiments, together, we will create an environment for self-exploration and personal growth.
This group offers an opportunity to improve your relationships by developing interpersonal strengths such as:

This on-going, closed, and experiential process group is suitable for both men and women of all ages, sexual orientation, and life experiences. Space is limited to 6 to 8 members. For those interested in this group, it is necessary to be interviewed prior to membership.

Please arrive 15 minutes early – refreshments will be provided. This is a closed group and requires an on-going membership. From time to time places become available, so please inquire. New members are admitted after an informal interview to assess suitability.
